Hyderabad, June 25, 2025

In a significant development related to a violent assault tied to the illegal trade of PDS rice, the Borabanda Police have initiated a detailed scene recreation in connection with Crime No. 395/2025. The crime, which involved the kidnapping and assault of a 29-year-old man, has raised serious concerns about the growing influence of black market networks operating in the area.

The incident, which occurred on June 14, only came to light when the victim, Bangarolla Taja, approached the police on June 23, fearing for his life after days of silence.

⚠️ Background of the Dispute

Taja, a driver and resident of Raj Nagar, had been buying subsidized Public Distribution System (PDS) rice from locals at ₹12/kg and reselling it to a known contact in Allapur at ₹17/kg. Unknowingly, he ended up purchasing stock from an associate of a man named Nayeem, who allegedly oversees a local illegal rice syndicate.

This transaction triggered a violent response from the group.
