Borabanda, Hyderabad:Internal rifts within the Congress party in Borabanda have come to light as senior local leader Shaik Shareef expressed serious dissatisfaction with the area’s corporator, Baba Fasiuddin.

Shaik Shareef, a long-time Congress worker in Borabanda, has alleged that despite several public programs and ministerial visits taking place in the area, he and other senior party members are intentionally being excluded from invitations and participation. He claims this reflects a lack of unity and internal coordination within the party at the grassroots level.

Further intensifying his allegations, Shareef stated that public sentiment in Borabanda is gradually distancing itself from the Congress, not due to lack of interest, but due to the local corporator’s attitude. “The public wants to support Congress, but when local leadership becomes a barrier, how can people connect with the party?” he remarked.

A significant point of contention raised by Shareef is the long-pending development of the Borabanda Qabrastan (graveyard). He recalled that around nine years ago, a major public announcement was made by Baba Fasiuddin—then the Deputy Mayor—during a prominent gathering at Mohammedia Masjid, promising the completion of the graveyard project. “To this day, that promise remains unfulfilled,” Shareef said.

What has further fueled the issue is Shareef's recent attempt to initiate the Qabrastan work independently, which, he claims, was obstructed by the corporator himself. According to Shareef, Fasiuddin tried to derail the ongoing efforts instead of supporting them.

“These actions raise a critical question—is this leadership truly committed to public welfare or focused on suppressing others for political dominance?” Shareef added.

While the allegations are serious, the truth behind these claims can only be confirmed after hearing the version of Corporator Baba Fasiuddin. Whether this is a genuine grievance or a politically motivated move will depend on both sides of the story.
