_Woman Tortured by Husband and In-Laws Over Dowry_
Hyderabad :- May 29 : A 28-year-old woman, Hina Begum, was allegedly tortured by her husband and in-laws over dowry demands. The victim, a resident of Ellareddy Guda, was married to Akmal Hussain, 42, a car driver, four years ago.

According to the police, The victim's family had already given Rs 2.5 lakh to the husband and in-laws as dowry, four and a half kilograms of gold  the husband and in-laws demanded additional dowry of Rs 2 lakh in cash, , and other gifts. When the victim's family failed to meet their demands, they allegedly subjected her to physical and mental torture.

The victim's husband and in-laws allegedly poured hot oil on her body, causing severe burns. They also beat her with metal rods for three days, leaving her in a critical condition.

According to The victim's family had already given Rs 2.5 lakh to the husband and in-laws as dowry, but they continued to demand more. The victim's mother-in-law, Afroz Begum, and sister-in-law, Soni, were also involved in the torture.

The victim's husband and in-laws allegedly locked her in a room for three days and tortured her. They also threatened to kill her and her children if she did not bring more dowry.

The victim's parents were informed that their daughter was in critical condition, and they rushed to her husband's house, where they found her in a pool of blood.

The victim was admitted to a government hospital in Ameerpet, where she is undergoing treatment.

The police have registered a case against the husband and in-laws under sections 498-A (cruelty by husband and in-laws) and 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

The police are investigating the case based on the victim's complaint. The victim suffered severe injuries on her back and other parts of her body due to the beating by her husband and in-laws.
