Hundreds of Palestinian journalists and photographers have risked their lives to document Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza. Belal Khaled is one of them. A year ago, he was capturing the joy on children's faces as they watched the World Cup. From October 2023 to April 2024, Belal photographed children's pain, starvation, and death. His powerful images provide a glimpse into the devastating reality of Gaza's ongoing humanitarian crisis.



Belal's images show the devastating impact of Israel's assault on Gaza's civilian population, particularly children. His photographs capture the fear, trauma, and resilience of Gaza's children, who have been subjected to unimaginable suffering.



One of Belal's images shows a young boy, no more than 10 years old, sitting amidst the rubble of his destroyed home, his face etched with grief and despair. Another image shows a group of children huddled together, their faces gaunt and malnourished, as they wait in line for food aid.

Belal's photographs also document the destruction of Gaza's infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and residential buildings. His images show the devastating impact of Israel's airstrikes, which have left thousands of civilians dead or injured.



Despite the danger, Belal continues to document the situation in Gaza, providing a vital window into the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
